The CITGO Fueling Good Charlotte Mountain Bike Series point system is determined by taking the total accumulated points during the 13 race series. Each cyclist's best 11 finishes are counted. Points are determined by the number of participants in the race. For example, if there are 14 participants in a 1x race, 1st place receives 14 points, 2nd place receives 13 points, 3rd place receives 12 points, and so on. If there are 10 or less participants in a 1x race, 1st place receives 10 points, 2nd place receives 9 points, and so on. DNF's receive 1 point for participation.
The Team competition consists of team members across all categories earning points. The team points are based on the following scoring system 1st - 25, 2nd - 22, 3rd - 20, 4th - 19, 5th - 18, 6th - 17, 7th - 16 and so on. Everyone who starts the race will score at least one point. The top five highest point earners from your team will be scored each week.
Team members MUST correctly register team name at each event. Team points are not retroactive.
For the 2017 season, the final round of three cross country races will be double point races.
